Pepper Jackrabbit Will Rise Again!

January 20, 2010

This week the members of Pepper Jackrabbit have decided to make a run for the SUN Prelims this coming April with hopes of qualifying for International.  Now that we have more than three months to prepare, PJR has time to find new songs and have more than two rehearsals to prepare.  In our Fall competition we sang nothing but cover songs (Come Fly With Me and Driving Me Crazy-O.C. Times, Bright Was The Night-Gas House Gang, Hello My Baby-Second Edition) which worked in such short notice.  Not that we can have four custom arrangements written by April, we will try to bring something new and different that will match the quirky name and personality of Pepper Jackrabbit!

It is what it is.

Pepper Jackrabbit SUN Results

January 20, 2010

With only two rehearsals under out belt, the elusive Pepper Jackrabbit came in fourth place at the SUN Fall Convention.  The quartet Lucky Day won the competition.

Our fourth place SUN District trophies!

Thanks for the positive voting hoping we may win.  Maybe next year?  For the time being, Pepper Jackrabbit will collect and store food as we go into hibernation for the winter.

Until next time…   it is what it is.

One more day….

October 1, 2009

Pepper Jackrabbit is one more day away from their first competition.  We will be singing at the SUN District Convention in Jacksonville, FL.  Because we formed after the registration deadline we must sing first in the contest.  Make sure those who are attending get there on time.  There’s nothing better than listening to a quartet who has only had one rehearsal prior to competing on stage.  It will be something to behold!  To help enhance our performance in your eyes we suggest you indulge on at least two adult beverages before we sing.  We really want to impress you our first time out.  Also, if the baritone’s hair looks funny, well it’s not.  Keep your mean thoughts to yourself.   More to come.

The History of Pepper Jackrabbit

September 30, 2009

About halfway through Tommy Davidson’s commentary he’ll talk about the TV show, “Cops” and how an out-of-shape policeman is chasing a suspect.  Hence, the name Pepper Jackrabbit is born.

[WARNING: Davidson's language is somewhere between PG-13 and XXX rated.  If you have little ones around or wasting time at work you may want to lower the volume.  The reference to pepper jackrabbit is more than halfway through the standup.]

Welcome!

Welcome to Pepper Jackrabbit’s blog where you’ll find all things obscure and random.  We are a barbershop quartet in 21st century America who like to sing the good old songs and drink beer.  We will add more information about the quartet to the site when we feel like getting around to it.  We will have bios posted shortly.  Mahalo!
